I’ve been building things since I was a kid. I used to like building models – cars, ships, that sort of thing. Then furniture and other larger stuff. Now whatever someone needs made out of wood.

My focus is custom work, including furniture and objects, built-ins, cabinetry, and finish carpentry. I specialize in the smaller cabinetry and one-of-a-kind furniture jobs that most large shops and contractors don’t like to touch. When it comes to furniture and objects, the sky’s the limit because most of these requests are unique and built to specification. I’m not interested in trends or shortcuts. Just solid design, materials, joinery, and honest work that will last a lot longer than whatever’s popular this season.

Every project presents its own challenges. Sometimes the solution is straightforward. Sometimes it takes a few sketches, mockups, or conversations to arrive at the right answer. That’s part of what I enjoy most about custom work. I enjoy the variety. Every project is different, every space presents different constraints, and every client has different priorities. Trying to harmonize all that into a design that is functional yet pleasing to interact with is the puzzle to solve and what keeps the work interesting.
